Giving credit where it is due, this mother-daughter duo is the backbone of our goat herd. On the left is Bella, our very first caprine who has fed her own babies, calves, lambs, pigs, orphan bunnies, and once a sick chicken. She’s the matriarch of the herd and rules with an iron gut rather than fist...she likes to eat. Her daughter on the right is Trixie, and though a more laid back coworker, managed to single-handedly contribute this year’s supply of milk for our soaps. We think her milk tastes best and she also raised a pair of giant bucks this year with her abundance. The making of the soap starts with the quality feed, sunshine, and pleasant environment the goats receive and we are thankful for their hard work!
Our goat milk comes straight from the barn to our kitchen. It is filtered then frozen into cubes to be used in our soap production. We add lye, coconut oil, sunflower oil, and manteca (the pretty way to say lard) to create a bar with luxurious lather. This soap nourishes while cleansing and contains no preservatives. We custom blend our unique scents with essential and skin safe fragrance oils.
Solid lotion bars are the new way to replenish moisture to your skin without the need for adding preservatives. The warmth of your hands melts the mango butter, sunflower oil, and beeswax to a fragrant balm to then be applied like traditional cream lotion. We use the same custom essential oil fragrance blends in these waterless hydration bars. The only thing missing in this product is water, which is why a little bit goes a long way!
